Summer passed into autumn this weekend, with the culmination of Labor Day. As I’ve mentioned, I think summer is a great time for unstructured play and activities for parents and kids.

This summer, my kids and I had a great time just playing around in the backyard in the sprinklers. Jumping through, over, and around the jets of water is great fun. Once we’re exhausted and have torn up the grass and left towels all over the mudroom, it’s time to sit down with a good board game.
