The Truth About Travel Teams

Around the age of 9 or 10, the option of competing in travel teams may appear on the child’s athletic horizon. Travel teams are highly competitive teams whose members are chosen based on tryouts. Both the parent and the child have to first sit down and decide whether they want to compete for a travel team. It’s important for the parent to do some homework first before allowing the child to put his or her athletic prowess on the line and try out for a travel team.
